APPLICATIONS FOR RESEARCH GRANTS AND POSTDOCTORAL STIPENDS FROM THE CENTRE FOR GENDER-RELATED MEDICINE" AT KAROLINSKA INSTITUTET
The Centre is a virtual organization for research in gender-related medicine with a biological orientation. The Centre was established in 2001 because information concerning our most common diseases from a gender medical point of view is insufficient. This is especially the case for studies of biological differences between the sexes in the areas of physiology, clinical treatment and prognosis. Public health is also one our research areas. The Centre has previously financed students in the late phase of their studies prior to their thesis defence (2002) and research grants to established scientists (2003). Now a maximum of 3 000 000 SEK is available to finance grants and/or postdoctoral stipends for one year.
RESEARCH GRANTS
Applications are invited from scientists who have completed their graduate training and are employed by Karolinska Institutet for research grants in the area of gender-related medicine. The grants are planned to be in the 250 000 500 000 SEK range. The applications should be written in English and include the following information.
POSTDOCTORAL STIPENDS
The stipends are for scientists who defended their PhD thesis maximum 5 years prior to the application deadline (after 1999-06-01) and who will conduct their research at Karolinska Instituet. The stipend is 15 000 SEK/month plus health- and accident insurance for one year. A grant of 100 000 SEK to cover research costs is also allocated. The applications should be written in English and include the following information:
1. Project title and project description (maximum 5 pages with 12 point text). Clearly specify how the research is relevant for gender-related medicine.
